Back Home

Hello everyone, I am back home with family in Somerset, Massachusetts and feel that I have fully navigated the cross cultural transition. I miss the students at Nalgonda and Vijayanagar Colony and am planning to return to India in the future. I had a great experience with The Modern Story Fellowship and hope to continue helping this organization in some capacity in the future. I’m finding Somerset, MA VERY quiet and seemingly empty next to Hyderabad. I no longer feel like I’m in an action movie when I cross the street and I can’t get fresh fruit juice on the sidewalk any more. I don’t hear the call to prayer or the auto rickshaw driver asking me, quite earnestly “where are you going, sir?!” But I am very much enjoying telling stories about these things. I encourage anyone reading this who is a prospective fellow to find out more about this program and apply when the next fellowship comes along. The students will really leave a mark on you and it’s a great opportunity to shrink the world down and make friends in places you never thought you would.
